Intercontinental Film Distributors (HK) Ltd. was formed in 1969 as a film producer/distributor/sales agent and immediately pioneered the distribution of western films into the Asian market. Quickly, the company grew to include video distribution, cinema operations and full service advertising. This success led to the establishment of Intercontinental Group Holdings Ltd in 1996.

 

Over the course of 48 years, the Intercontinental Group has blossomed into a diversified multimedia entertainment enterprise with wide-ranging business interests, a wealth of human talent, and substantial material resources. Today, Intercontinental Group is an organization with over 400 employees with a turnover in the HK$600 million range. Its businesses include film and video distribution, cinema operations, advertising and promotion services, video games distribution, e-commerce and character products merchandising.

In August 2013, eSun Holdings Limited invested in a majority share with the Intercontinental Group. eSun Holdings Limited is a member of the Lai Sun Group and a listed company in Hong Kong. Its principal businesses include music production and distribution, artiste management, production and distribution of television programs, film and video format products.

Intercontinental Film Distributors (HK) Ltd. (IFDL)

 

Set up in 1969, Intercontinental Film Distributors (H.K.) Limited (“IFDL”) is one of Hong Kong's largest film distributors. It is the sole distributor in Hong Kong and Macau for Paramount Pictures International. Other than Hollywood and foreign films, IFDL also distributes many Hong Kong and China productions, including the Chinese films produced by Media Asia. It also acquires independent productions from major film markets around the world. Due to its stellar performance in these areas, the company's market-share ranking in the local film distribution industry is consistently at the top.

 

 

 

 

Intercontinental Video Limited (IVL)

 

Since its establishment in 1981, Intercontinental Video Limited has built up an enormous market for its video and edutainment products. It distributes a diversified range of products from Western films, to Japanese dramas and animations as well as Chinese films and television programs and children products.

On Hollywood products, IVL is the sole distributor in Hong Kong for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, Universal Studios Limited, Paramount Home Entertainment International and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. On local productions side, IVL is appointed by Celestial Pictures to distribute their Shaw Brothers Film Library (the world's largest Chinese film library featuring almost 600 classic Hong Kong films). IVL also distributes video titles from Media Asia Film Distribution (HK) Ltd. Its distribution list also includes Studio Ghibli’s Japanese animation library and independent films from IFDL.

IVL also aims to provide premium quality and inspirational educational video products with wholesome entertainment value (“edutainment”) such as BARNEY series and a catalog of selective quality infotainment TV programs produced by Radio Television Hong Kong (“RTHK”).

 

 
 
 

 

 

Multiplex Cinema Limited (MCL)

Multiplex Cinema Limited (MCL) was formed in 1982 to provide local audience with the best movie-going experience. MCL Cinemas currently manages 8 prime cinema sites in Hong Kong: 2 on the Kowloon Peninsula, namely the Flagship Cinema, Festival Grand Cinema, in Kowloon Tong and MCL Telford Cinema in Kowloon Bay; 3 on the Island side, which include Grand Windsor Cinema in Causeway Bay, MCL South Horizons Cinema in Ap Lei Chau and Grand Kornhill Cinema in Tai Koo; and 3 in the New Territories, including MCL Metro City Cinema, STAR Cinema in Tseung Kwan O and MCL Green Code Cinema in Fanling. Together with The Grand Cinema in Elements at MTR Kowloon Station (under a partnership with the Shaw Group), MCL Cinemas has altogether 53 screens in Hong Kong. 

 

 



 



 

 

Perfect Advertising and Production Company Ltd. (PAPC)


Originally established in 1983 to provide the Group with the best marketing and technical support services, Perfect Advertising and Production Company Limited has grown to become a leading advertising agency in the local entertainment industry. With extensive experience in areas such as the organization of press events, exhibitions, gala premieres and other large-scale promotional activities, PAPC offers the full range of advertising and production services not only to all the companies within the Group, but also to numerous major corporate clients including Paramount Pictures International, Shaw Brothers & TVB, China’s leading film company Huayi Brothers Pictures, Sotsu – the organizer of ‘C3 x Hobby Expo’ in Japan, and Costa Cruise. PAPC also boasts a Production Division that is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide high quality production services including television commercial production for movies, film materials duplication, Cantonese dubbing, video editing/mastering and DVD pre-production processing.

 

 

 

Intertainment Ltd. (IL)

 


In line with the Group's mission to distribute all forms of entertainment through all channels, Intertainment Limited was created in 2000 to sell and promote the Group’s products through the Internet. To this end, one of Intertainment's primary projects is the development of MovieSuper.com, a website which serves as an all-in-one movie database and a source of infotainment and e-commerce, while at the same time offering an online purchasing service for tickets to MCL cinemas in Hong Kong and mainland China.

Launch of iScreen -  video on demand (VOD) platform

iScreen is a one-stop video on demand (VOD) platform for all movie lovers and film fans who can select and watch video content when and where they choose to. Users can use computer to login to www.iScreen.hk or download free iScreen app to their personal device(s) to enjoy our services. At present, iScreen member can enjoy exclusive privileges including Video Streaming / Video download for pay-per-view and free content on multi-devices such as Web / iPhone / Android phone. Later, Video Streaming on Smart TV, the services of Subscription (SVOD) and Free Video on demand with Advertising will be also launched.

 

 

Intercontinental Consumer Products Ltd (ICP)

Since its formation in 2000, Intercontinental Consumer Products Limited has grown to become one of the leading distributors of film-related merchandise to the premium and consumer retail markets. Today, its wide-ranging product categories include toys, apparel, home ware, gifts, and stationery. Major clients include Watson’s, MTR Corporation Ltd., Hong Kong Disneyland, Standard Chartered Bank, Nestle, Kjeldsens, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, Wilson Communications, Fortress and Broadway consumer electronic products and electrical appliance chain.
