For over two decades, Intercontinental Video Limited (IVL) has been at the forefront of the Hong Kong home entertainment business, providing the best in quality products. Since its formation in 1981, IVL has dominated the local and international filmed video content market. When video rental ordinance became effective in April 2008, IVL began to take the necessary steps to bring its programs to authorized rental shops. It also distributes a selection of sought-after films on Blu-ray, offering consumers an unparalleled experience in both visual effect and sound quality.

Since 1988, IVL has been the exclusive distributor of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE), carrying the Walt Disney, Touchstone and Hollywood film labels. Some of its biggest shows have included The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Wall-E as well as Lost and Desperate Housewives. In October 2008, Blu-ray versions of popular films were released into the market. These films included High School Musical 3: Senior Year, the highly successful follow-up to the first two High School Musical films released in February 2009 and popular children’s films Bedtime Stories and Bolt released in April 2009. Well-known by their lovely characters, G-Force and Up are to be released by the end of 2009.

In 2002, IVL added the Shaw Brothers Film Library, owned by Celestial Pictures, to its distribution list, making it the sole distributor of the world's largest Chinese film library. Digitally-restored, the Celestial Shaw Brothers Film Library offers an unparalleled variety of film ranging from musical drama (the famous Huangmei opera) and martial arts, to romance, comedy and contemporary drama. Currently, IVL has released almost 600 titles on DVD and VCD. Its first Blu-ray title, "Behind The Yellow Line" was released in 2008.

Following from the success of Keroro, The Movie and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this beloved character, the release of Keroro 4 is sure to be one of the main highlights of 2009. In addition, popular shows have also included School Days as well as the box set for The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, adapted from a series of well-liked light novels and released in April 2009. Upcoming releases for this year include Lucky Star and Spice and Wolf.

IVL is the exclusive distributor of Studio Ghibli, one of Japan's best loved producers of Hayao Miyazaki classics such as My Neighbour Totoro and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. It is excited to be releasing Miyazaki's latest masterpiece, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea this year. Also for the first time in Studio Ghibli's history, we will be releasing their beloved animations on Blu-ray, available by the end of 2009.

Having been granted with the exclusive worldwide video distribution rights of Radio Television Hong Kong TV programs in 2005, IVL has enriched the library with works by famous stars in their early careers, as well as documentary programs. In 2008, IVL released Sea World Odyssey – your guide to the underwater world of Hong Kong. We have also been proud to distribute the classic drama When We Were Young in 2008 and the highly-anticipated, Miracle of the Orient in 2009. A programme on Positive Parenting – Parenting Documentary was also released in summer 2009.

Following the release of Hong Kong History Decode and A Century of Real Estate in 2007 and 2008, IVL has again acquired the video distribution rights to ATV's recent popular infotainment and documentary programs including Merry Go Round and A Transition For 30 Years. Other recent releases in 2009 are Hong Kong Gossip and China Triads Decode.
