Since its establishment in 1981, Intercontinental Video Limited has built up an enormous market for its video and edutainment products. It distributes a diversified range of products from Western films, to Japanese dramas and animation as well as Chinese films and television programs and children products.

It is the sole distributor in Hong Kong for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment, as well as the Shaw Brothers Film Library (the world's largest Chinese film library featuring almost 600 classic Hong Kong films) owned by Celestial Pictures Limited. Its distribution list also includes Studio Ghibli’s animation library and Kadokawa's Japanese Film Library. IVL is maintaining a catalog of selective quality infotainment programs produced by RTHK and ATV.

IVL also aims to provide premium quality and inspirational educational video products with wholesome entertainment value (“edutainment”) such as the popular sing-along BARNEY series and the classic SESAME STREET series.

Since 1988, IVL has been the exclusive distributor of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE), carrying animation and live action spectaculars of Walt Disney film label, one of its biggest titles has included TOY STORY 3. In October 2008, Blu-ray versions of popular films were released into the market, and more Disney titles have been releasing in 3D Blu-ray, setting the 3D home entertainment to the new era.

IVL is also the official distributor of Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) in Hong Kong. With hundreds of titles ranging from motion pictures to animated features and TV drama series, this licensing collaboration has broadened the variety of our programs. Some of the major blockbusters released on Blu-ray include BACK TO THE FUTURE, JURASSIC PARK and the FAST & FURIOUS series, and the release of DESPICABLE ME in 3D Blu-ray in 2010 had marked the debut of UPIE 3D release.

Appointed by Paramount Home Entertainment International Limited as the exclusive home video licensee for the Hong Kong and Macau territories, IVL has taken up the rights to market and distribute popular live action films such as TRANSFORMERS, IRON MAN, INDIANA JONES, GODFATHER and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE franchises on Blu-ray, together with latest blockbusters from the studio.

Since 2002, IVL has added the Shaw Brothers Film Library, owned by Celestial Pictures, to its distribution list, making it the sole distributor of the world's largest Chinese film library. Currently, IVL has released almost 600 digitally-restored titles, among which some of them are also on Blu-ray.

Adapted from a well-liked light novel, THE MELANCHOLY OF SUZUMIYA HARUHI TV animation series is also added to IVL’s product category. Its theatrical sequel THE DISAPPEARANCE OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA on Blu-ray, is also one of the biggest highlights of Kadokawa animations released by IVL.

IVL is also thrilled to release Studio Ghibli, one of Japan's best loved producers of Hayao Miyazaki’s classics such as NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, CASTLE IN THE SKY and more recent movie releases on Blu-ray under this long-term partnership.

Having been granted the exclusive worldwide video distribution rights of Radio Television Hong Kong TV programs in 2005, IVL has further enriched its video library with documentary programs like the HONG KONG HISTORY Series. A program on positive parenting – PARENTING DOCUMENTARY has become a longtime best-selling educational video since its release.

IVL has been continuously releasing selective high quality ATV programs that combine information and entertainment, such as HONG KONG HISTORY DECODE and FIVE HUNDRED YEARS OF MACAU.

In this category, video products range from BABY EINSTEIN (for babies up to 36 months old), BIG WORLD FOR LITTLE PEOPLE, the sing-along learning series BARNEY, to the popular Sesame Workshop productions (including SESAME STREET and ELMO'S WORLD) with many more to come.
